This adapter is used when you want to connect a Geiger tube with a BNC plug to a counter or datalogging equipment with a 6 mm Jack socket.
The adapter converts the 5 V supply voltage at the Jack plug to the 500 V needed by the Geiger tube. The adapter emits a beep when the Geiger tube detects radiation. A switch allows you to mute the beeper.
(For details about the electrical connections in the Jack plug: See manual for 513575 GM sensor with Jack plug.)

(And in principle also 513610 and 513600. However, these Geiger counters accept Geiger tubes with either BNC or Jack plugs, making the adapter redundant.)
If you remove the Jack cable, the adapter can be connected via a 663010 Interface kit, allowing the signal to be used in a breadboard setup with e.g. an Arduino.
