Made from two hinged hardwood blocks
To measure the speed of sound, the following equipment could be used: Clapper board (248200), 2 microphones (248600), 2 cables, DIN-6 to modular plug (248601), and a Student Timer (200280).
The mikes are placed in a suitable distance (e.g. 1 m) from each other. Extend the line through the microphones to pick a position to produce a sharp, well-defined sound. The passage of the sound pulse is registered by the microphones. The clapper board is well suited for producing such a sound.
